Insurance Sector Management TeamDavid Flam, Group Vice President, Diversified InsuranceMr. Flam heads IXI’s insurance sector and has over 10 years of experience in financial services distribution strategy, marketing, customer segmentation, retail and wholesale market share optimization, and customer and channel profitability analysis. In addition to overseeing the company’s relationships with U.S. financial insurance companies, he is currently working with industry leaders in both Healthcare and P&C on emerging risk and marketing applications. Prior to joining IXI in 2001, Mr. Flam was a Senior Consultant with CSC, where he practiced for four years in the firm’s business strategy unit, The Kalchas Group. He has worked with executive management of Fortune 500 and FT 500 institutions in North America, Europe, and Latin America. In 2003, Mr. Flam spearheaded IXI’s launch of the annuity industry’s first-ever customizable market share database, now adopted by the industry’s Top 15 issuers. He was recently published in LIMRA’s quarterly magazine, MarketFacts. Mr. Flam holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence University and a J.D. from George Washington University. Gary Taiariol, Senior Vice President, Insurance & Intermediary DistributionMr. Taiariol oversees IXI’s annuity distribution reporting and related offerings to wholesale marketed manufacturers. Prior to joining IXI, Mr. Taiariol spent nine years at ING, most recently as Chief Administrative Officer of ING Annuity Distribution. In this role, he led ING’s finance, planning, product implementation, technology, and communications teams. While at ING, he also served as Chief Financial Officer and worked in several divisions including ING US Financial Services and ING Funds. Mr. Taiariol has also held leadership roles at NovaCare, Inc., and Christian Dior Perfumes, Inc. Mr. Taiariol holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Scranton. He is a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. Brendan Phair, Senior Vice President, Strategic AccountsMr. Phair joins IXI with over 20 years experience within the financial services industry, gained from positions on both the client and supplier sides. Mr. Phair has acquired hands-on financial services knowledge from positions within the Investment Management Group at Bankers Trust Company, the Strategic Planning Group at Deloitte and Touche, and as Group Marketing Manager of the eBusiness Division of American International Group. On the supplier side, Mr. Phair has successfully managed consultative sales teams as Vice President, Sales at Claritas, Inc., and Vice President, Financial Practice Management at NFO Interactive. Mr. Phair holds a B.S. in Finance from St. John’s University and an MBA in Marketing from Loyola University of Chicago. John E. Foster, Vice President, Insurance and Mutual FundsJohn has more than 24 years experience in the financial services industry. At IXI Corporation, John leverages his experience and knowledge to develop new relationships with mutual fund and annuity manufacturers’ wholesaling departments. John works with clients and prospects to determine their needs and utilizes the IXI data to provide solutions that will help them strategically and tactically. Prior to joining IXI, John was Director of Distributor Sales at Finetre Corporation for four and a half years. Previous to that, he was Sales Manager at NetDecide, a company that provided a web-based wealth management platform for brokers and financial planning departments. For 10 years, John was the Southeast sales rep for Thomson/CDA /Wiesenberger. He also ran his own financial planning firm for six years and was a broker for Merrill Lynch. He holds an MBA from Radford University and BBA from Roanoke College. Darrin C. Lee, Director, Healthcare PracticeDarrin Lee has over 14 years of experience in strategic marketing, channel development, advertising, and product management roles - with a focus on healthcare and technology. Prior to joining Cohorts, a division of IXI, Mr. Lee served as Director of Marketing and Product Management for CodeCorrect, Inc. an industry-leading financial, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance application provider for the healthcare market. At CodeCorrect, he managed a team responsible for developing and marketing software solutions for hospitals, physician practices and channel partners across the United States. Before joining CodeCorrect, Mr. Lee was a senior market manager for Thomson MICROMEDEX, a global healthcare information and software provider. He has also managed and marketed a variety of electronic information and decision support products in the legal, financial, securities and regulatory industries for companies such as Shepards Citations (a division of LexisNexis) and Information Handling Services. Mr. Lee holds a B.S. in Advertising, with an emphasis in Marketing, and a J.D. both from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
