Position Description
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist will develop, maintain and support core databases used by IXI for Segmentation Analysis. These data sets include IXI’s proprietary financial data, as well as demographic, lifestyle and geographic data elements. The Analyst will create and maintain a Business Geographics’ (GIS) framework for the company’s analytic requirements.
The GIS Specialist will report to the Senior Vice President of Customer Segmentation.
The GIS Specialist’s essential duties and responsibilities:
- Compile and maintain a central database of internal and external data elements, derived from several disparate sources
- Develop and maintain a geographic framework, using GIS and mapping tools and methodologies
- Coordinate the development of geographic enhancements, such as clients’ retail trade areas
- Assist in the development and deployment of analytic solutions, using the database and geographic framework
- Coordinate the processing of client data sets for profile reports based on the geographic framework
- Provide general assistance to the SVP of Customer Segmentation on product development, analysis, reporting and presentation materials.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, preferably with GIS or geography courses; and
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience, within a retail or database marketing environment.
- Experience with mapping/GIS software, preferably MapInfo
- Competence in analytic software, preferably SAS, Visual Basic, SQL and/or Microsoft Access
- Experience in retail trade area analysis or gravitational modeling would be an advantage.

Position Description
The data business analyst in this position is responsible for the timely processing and review of incoming client files. Position Description
This position resides in IXI’s Production Department and is responsible for coordinating incoming data files, maintaining organization of media, and delivering products to our clients.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for contacting member firms for data and coordinating the timely arrival of all data input files submitted by our member firms on a quarterly basis. The Coordinator will track all data files and work with the account management team to obtain subsequent data files.
The Coordinator will track all media (CDs, cartridges, and electronic files) received by IXI, post data from cartridges, create and maintain an organized media library, and return media to submitting firms, and retrieve and post files from and to various FTP sites.
This position is responsible for tracking and delivering products to IXI’s clients. This process includes creating pdf or Excel files, copying information to CDs or DVDs, writing information to cartridges, notifying the account management team after products have shipped, and working with our accounting department to answer any questions about product shipments.
